Our Peterborough Hub Service Is Moving To Thorpe Hall

26th March, 2015

Headway Cambridgeshire is delighted to announce that we are moving our Peterborough Hub Service to Thorpe Hall Hospice in Peterborough, which is run by the charity Sue Ryder.

We have been offered space in the West Wing, comprising space for our rehabilitation sessions, an open plan kitchen and an office area, as well as a room where we will set up a small gym for our clients to use. There is also access to more rooms and additional office space. This move will enable us to develop our Peterborough Hub services further.

We will be leaving our existing Peterborough Hub location on the top floor of the Eaglewood Neurological Care Centre run by PJ Care. We are extremely grateful to Jan Flawn, owner of PJ Care and to her staff, for the tremendous support they have given Headway Cambridgeshire over the last three years. We shall also continue to work collaboratively with PJ Care.

We have planned the Peterborough Hub move for Thursday 2 April 2015. This is a very good day for us to move, as we will not be disrupting the service we offer our clients. Our hub service will then resume at the new location after the Easter Bank Holidays.

We will be having a formal ‘Welcome to Thorpe Hall’ event on Tuesday 9 June 2015 (during Carers Week). This will be an evening event, 6.00 - 8.00 pm, and will include refreshments and entertainment. We will be inviting clients, carers, people from the Peterborough area, together with commissioners and our supporters, to come and see our new Peterborough Hub at Thorpe Hall.

As a brain injured person it can sometimes be hard to feel positive about your progress but the gym instructor at Headway Cambridgeshire pushes me in the right direction and helps me to feel more enthusiastic about what I am able to achieve and what I might achieve in the future.
