Hub
We have a rehabilitation hub in Chesterton, which is a place to work, learn, explore, enjoy and recover.
Brain injury can affect anybody, at any time. We recognise the far reaching practical and emotional impact that living with brain injury can have on the individual and their family, friends and carers.
Through the provision of tailor made packages of assessment and support we are able to offer specialist services to suit your needs and budget.
We pride ourselves on our flexible, person centred approach aimed at promoting independence and empowering the individual.
We are here to help whatever stage of the journey you are on and for as long as you need us.
If you have a brain injury or support someone who does, regardless of when this occurred, the Brain Injury Co-ordinators are your first point of contact for support and information. They will talk through your needs and wishes and provide you with a range of options, including access to specialist services from Headway to enable you to continue your journey.
If you are being discharged from hospital or a rehabilitation facility we can provide support to help you with this transition. A Community Brain Injury Co-ordinator can visit you before and after discharge and provide specialist guidance focused on this early stage.
If you are a patient or have a relative at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, support is available through our Hospital Brain Injury Co-ordinator. They can assist with a range of emotional and practical help at any time from admission to the point of leaving the hospital and at clinics.
Raising awareness of the effects of brain injury is key to improving understanding of what is often referred to as an "invisible" or "hidden" injury.
“ I struggled with a lot of issues, especially how I felt my father’s personality had changed and Headway Cambridgeshire helped me a lot at that time in my life. They made me feel much less alone and I’ll always be grateful for that. ”
