We are very pleased to share the fantastic news that Service and Development Manager Sharon is now Doctor Buckland!
Sharon has successfully completed the final stage of her PhD and her thesis; "The impact of coping, family changes, and loss on adjusting to life after acquired brain injury" at Anglia Ruskin University. We're incredibly proud of all the hard work Sharon has put in over the past 4 years and are excited to see how her research will inform the future of ABI services.
Thank you to all the clients and families who gave their time to participate in the study and to The Pixel Fund for their support.
Back in January 2020, Sharon had an article based on her PhD research, "Individual and family experiences of loss after acquired brain injury: A multi-method investigation", published in the
Neuropsychological Rehabilitation Journal. You can read her work here.
This is an Accepted Manuscript of an article published by Taylor & Francis in Neuropsychological Rehabilitation on 6th January 2020, available at http://wwww.tandfonline. com/10.1080/09602011.2019.1708415.
“ As a brain injured person it can sometimes be hard to feel positive about your progress but the gym instructor at Headway Cambridgeshire pushes me in the right direction and helps me to feel more enthusiastic about what I am able to achieve and what I might achieve in the future. ”
