Headway Cambridgeshire are very pleased to announce we have been successful in the charity ballot for the London Marathon 2020. Representing us will be Shona, who is running in memory of her brother Nick.
"My name is Shona Inman and I have the privilege of running the marathon for Headway Cambridgeshire in April 2020. My reasons for running the marathon for Headway Cambridgeshire are extremely personal, as I know firsthand what a fantastic charity it is.
My amazing brother Nick Barrett was devastatingly diagnosed with a brain tumour, and after a long battle with this illness he passed away in April 2019. Headway Cambridgeshire was unquestionably a huge support for Nick, for myself and my parents over the last few years.
When Nick’s second operation left him with a left-sided weakness, Headway Cambridgeshire helped with improving his physical movement, they helped with his general confidence and getting Nick back to work and they were always there through all the twists and turns we encountered. The people at Headway Cambridgeshire are so caring and positive and we relied upon them greatly throughout my brother’s illness.
I am of course running for Headway Cambridgeshire to raise as much money as possible for this brilliant charity but more importantly, I am running for my wonderful brother who I miss every day."

“ As a brain injured person it can sometimes be hard to feel positive about your progress but the gym instructor at Headway Cambridgeshire pushes me in the right direction and helps me to feel more enthusiastic about what I am able to achieve and what I might achieve in the future. ”
