The sun was shining and spirits were high as almost three hundred runners set off around the 10k course at the beautiful Childerley Estate. The race was set up in aid of Headway Cambridgeshire and is the first of five over the summer. The event was supported by a great team of volunteers who marshalled the bluebell-lined route. As a special treat the normally shut garden on the estate was open to the public as a further fundraising initiative.
" A great race, well organised and in a wonderful location" was the verdict of one of the participants.
If anyone is interested in volunteering as a marshal for any of the other races please get in touch on 01223 576550 or email@example.com
The dates for the races are 21st May at Wimpole, 18th June at Hatfield Forest, 9th July at Thetford Forest and the 8th October at Wimpole again.
“ The Hospital Brain Injury Co-ordinator became someone who absolutely understood how I felt, I didn’t need to explain. I could talk about my fears and worries. She was such a great support through the difficult days, but could also celebrate the small step successes, which was important to me. ”
