10 Year Old Fundraising Hero Raises Money for Headway Cambridgeshire

11th July, 2019

Michael, age 10, was inspired to raise money for Headway Cambridgeshire when his mum Leonie received our help in October 2018, after her partner Darren had a brain haemorrhage.

Michael ran a fundraising stall at a local fun day on 6th July 2019 and sold over 1000 tombola tickets in under an hour, raising a fantastic £250! We're not the only ones to have noticed Michael's fantastic work, he was honoured with an award from his local MP and asked to cast his expert eye as a judge in the fun dog show.

"...myself and Michael would like to give back to you so you can help others" Leonie, Michael's mum.

The day was made even more special when Darren, who now lives at a neurological rehabilitation centre in York, attended the event. This was the first time that Darren had attended an event of this type since his injury in 2018.

Headway Cambridgeshire would like to thank Michael and Leonie for their inspiring support.

As a brain injured person it can sometimes be hard to feel positive about your progress but the gym instructor at Headway Cambridgeshire pushes me in the right direction and helps me to feel more enthusiastic about what I am able to achieve and what I might achieve in the future.
