Gift Aid

If you pay tax in the UK, then Gift Aid is a simple way to increase the value of your donations to Headway Cambridgeshire.

Making your donation using Gift Aid enables Headway Cambridgeshire to reclaim the basic rate tax on your gift.

Basic rate tax is 20 per cent, so this means that if you give £10 using Gift Aid, it’s worth £12.50 to Headway Cambridgeshire.

Lucy Bardner is raising funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. Instead of birthday gifts, she has requested donations to her JustGiving page instead. Lucy said: Greg & my brother-in-law Pete both experienced brain injuries before they reached 50. Headway has been a steady source of support, understanding and advice—please help them keep going. Robert Tomkins is running the Perkins Great Eastern Run on Sunday 9 October 2016 race to raise funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. He is running because his mum had a brain injury as a result of a brain tumour a few years ago. Robert said: “Headway help people like my mum by going to their support centre… Mum loves going there and doing new things, and things she used to do before her surgery. It also gives my dad a rest so he can go do the things he wants and has to do.” Please support Robert by visiting his JustGiving page and making a donation.

 

 

Jamie has always been a keen charity fundraiser and has completed numerous sponsored events since school for Headway, a charity close to our hearts. Thank you for your kind donation in his memory. Jamie’s family.

Recent Events with JustGiving

 

Lisa Birnie ran in the Abington 10K race to raise funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. She was running in memory of Jamie, who was a keen runner and frequent fundraiser for the charity. Lisa said: “In January I decided to start running, I set my self a goal of running 5k, once I reached it I knew I had to keep running. In early June one of my best friends lost her brother. From that day I decided to run my first ever 10k in his memory.” Lisa had set herself a fundraising target of £150 but she and her fundraising supporters totally smashed this and so far she has raised over £750.00, which is a great tribute to Jamie. The Prime Time Fitness gym based in Girton near Cambridge ran a special day of activities on 10 September 2016 to raise funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. The gym welcomed many new participants to the event. More details are on their website. If you couldn’t make the event, you can still support them by donating at their JustGiving page.

 

Chris Burge recently took part in a Welsh 3 Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. You can show your support for Chris by visiting his JustGiving page and make a donation.

 

Bouygues UK Cambridge is a construction firm that is currently building The Triangle Cambridge, the new headquarters of Cambridge Assessment. They made Headway Cambridgeshire their Charity of the Year and are working collaboratively to support us in a number of ways, including entering the Bear Grylls Survival Race on 20 August 2016. You can help Bouygues UK Cambridge support Headway Cambridgeshire by visiting their JustGiving page and making a donation.

 

Sophie Parker, a Rehabilitation Worker at Headway Cambridgeshire, took part in the Bear Grylls Survival Race to raise money for Headway Cambridgeshire. Colin Pountney organised an event to raise funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. The Trail Riders’ Fellowship in Cambridgeshire set a 250 mile challenge for motorcycle riders. Dean Pemberton organised a 1000 mile cycle ride from John O’Groats to Land’s End starting on 1 August 2016, to raise funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. He and his friends are raising funds for a charity that is close to their hearts and they appreciate every donation they receive. Richard Cobden took part in the Liverpool to Chester Bike Ride on Sunday 3 July 2016, to funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. Richard said: “I’m doing this for my daughter’s friend’s charity. Hayley Turner has done so much for my horse racing mad daughter. Hayley suffered head injuries after a fall and was treated at Headway. After their amazing care Hayley got back in the saddle. Jamie Perry recently ran the Tough Mudder challenge on 21 May to raise funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. Jamie said: “I am doing the Tough Mudder challenge on 21st MAY for Headway Cambridgeshire because it gives new quality of life to people like my mum.” So far, Jamie has raised over £390 for Headway Cambridgeshire. This is not the first time Jamie has supported Headway Cambridgeshire; in 2012 he took part in the Spartan Race in Cambridge to raise funds for the charity.

 

Camilla Camilla entered the Bath Half marathon which took place on 13 March. She ran to raise funds for Headway Cambridgeshire. She was inspired to take part and make it a fund-raiser after seeing the effects on a family member of an intra-cerebral haemorrhage recently. Camilla said: “It is for a fantastic cause that really does make a difference to people, please support in whatever way you can.” Well done Camilla, for raising £300 for our charity. GregW50 Katie Cummins has been fundraising on JustGiving for Headway Cambridgeshire. Katie says: “I’ve seen first-hand the important and valuable service they provide in helping people come to terms with what can often be life changing complex cognitive, communication and physical disability after their injury.” Please show support for Katie in her London Triathlon by donating at her JustGiving page.
