Volunteer Group Leader Needed
Headway Cambridgeshire is piloting a new project, which aims to provide leisure activities for adults with a brain injury while promoting friendship and inclusion.
We are looking for volunteers to run leisure sessions with clients based on the volunteers own interests and knowledge. Sessions could include craft, games, music, drama and relaxation sessions. We’d love for volunteers to be creative in bringing their own interests to these sessions.
Applicants should be enthusiastic, with good organisational, communication and planning skills and with the ability to work flexibly and empathetically. Experience of providing activity groups would be beneficial.
Volunteers will gain a good understanding of working with adults with a brain injury and associated disabilities. They will have the chance to have a ‘hands on’ experience in managing people, running groups and will gain up to date knowledge of the voluntary sector. From the volunteer placement they will gain valuable skills which will enhance their CVs and receive supervision and in-house training.
THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO AN ENHANCED CRB CLEARANCE
