Community Support |
Our Community Brain Injury Advisors can support anyone in the community within Cambridgeshire who has had a brain injury and is aged 18 - 70 years. We also offer support to anyone who is involved with that person. This can include family, friends, carers, employers and colleagues.
We can offer assistance in a number of areas including:
- Information on brain injury
- Information on Headway services
- Information on other local services
- Benefits support
- Signposting to relevant agencies
- Information on how to get help with legal matters
- Emotional support
We are always happy to offer information to any organisation or member of the community who would like to know more about brain injury.

Big Lottery Fund visits Headway Cambrigdeshire
Big Lottery Fund's Head of Region (East), Sara Bettsworth, the England Deuputy manager - Policy, Ambreen Shah and Catherine Kimberley, Regional Manager - Outreach visited Headway Cambridgeshire to see how we are using our Lottery Funding. They met with Kathy & Jo, our Community Brain Injury Advisors, to talk about their work and to see how funding from the Lottery has helped Headway to develop our service in the community.
They were impressed with our service and have requested to attend the pub socials with Kathy & Jo in the future. They write: "Overall we were very impressed by the thought-through approach to the project and the challenges that the community workers were setting themselves to constantly improve and build on what they have already learned and achieved." and "It's fascinating to hear about the impact on clients and how they are taking the initiative in terms of socialisation."
We are very proud of our work with those affected by brain injury in the community. Well done to all concerned.
