Carers' support in Cambridge
Headway Cambridgeshire’s
Carers’ Support Group takes place on the second Wednesday each
month at 7.15 pm at Headway House in Cambridge.
The group is run by people who
have experienced brain injury at first hand and are able to offer their
knowledge and understanding of the difficulties faced by both the brain
injured person and their family and carers.
The group meets once a month
and provides an opportunity for carers to get together to chat, give
support, exchange information and organise social events.
The group has a guest speaker
at most of the meetings, covering a wide range of topics. Speakers
in the past have included Neuro Psychologists, Social Workers and
Occupational Therapists who have provided technical and medical
information, and other speakers have been of a more general interest,
for instance aromatherapy and war time memories.
Please contact Candy Hodge,
the organiser of the group, if you would like more information –
anyone who is affected by brain injury is welcome to attend.
