We want to thank our supporters and to update you on our winter appeal, which raised almost £1,200, helping to maintain our services for brain injured people over the difficult winter months.
Every pound donated has helped towards the rehabilitation of a local person, who has sustained a brain injury. It has enabled people to become physically stronger by working out under careful supervision in our gym. It has helped people to relearn how to prepare a meal. It has meant that someone in the community wasn’t alone over the festive period, and had the benefit of a Headway support worker to help them celebrate.
We know that many of you have direct experience of our support – for yourself, a family member, or as a member of our team, and it means a great deal to us that so many people felt strongly enough about our services to make a donation, and make a real difference to local people.
Many thanks for your continued support, and warmest wishes for 2016.
Austin Willett Chief Executive, Headway Cambridgeshire
“ The Hospital Brain Injury Co-ordinator became someone who absolutely understood how I felt, I didn’t need to explain. I could talk about my fears and worries. She was such a great support through the difficult days, but could also celebrate the small step successes, which was important to me. ”
