Volunteer Occupational Therapy Assistants Needed

Volunteer Occupational Therapy Assistants Needed

30th January, 2018

An Occupational Therapist (OT) works with people to enable them to live as independently as possible, and to engage in occupations/activities that promote their health and well-being.

Volunteering can be a good way to gain experience if you are thinking of becoming an OT or working in the health field.

As a volunteer you will be able to:

  • Develop knowledge of brain injury and how it impacts upon an individual’s daily functioning.
  • Develop skills that improve communication with an individual with cognitive impairments, as well as developing the ability to support a brain injured individual to engage in meaningful activities.

You will also receive training, and on-going support from an Occupational Therapist.

We recommend a minimum of four hours a week. You will need to be a car driver and have access to a car.

If you are interested in applying to be a volunteer, please make contact with Angela Bentley

Ever since Headway has been involved, my son’s life has completely turned around.
