Peer Mentoring

Peer Mentoring

10th November, 2016

Headway Cambridgeshire have launched a new peer mentoring scheme to share our clients, and family member’s, experiences of brain injury.

  • Have you recently suffered a brain injury?
  • Are you a relative of someone who has?
  • Are you struggling to make sense of the new normal?
  • Do you feel isolated and confused?
  • Would you value meeting someone who has been through the same thing?
We are looking for people who have suffered a brain injury, or their family members, who would benefit from some 1:1 support and encouragement from others who have been through similar experiences.
  • Have you suffered a brain injury, but have recovered well?
  • Are you supportive, encouraging and reliable?
  • Are you further down the road of recovery?
  • Do you have experience of a loved one suffering a brain injury?
We are also looking for people who have suffered a brain injury, or their family members, who would feel able to offer some light 1:1 support and encouragement to others who find themselves in similar circumstances.

As a brain injured person it can sometimes be hard to feel positive about your progress but the gym instructor at Headway Cambridgeshire pushes me in the right direction and helps me to feel more enthusiastic about what I am able to achieve and what I might achieve in the future.
