Professor John Pickard, Director of the Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre at Addenbrooke's Hospital, has become the new Patron of Headway Cambridgeshire.
Professor Pickard said: 'I am delighted to be asked to become a Patron for Headway Cambridgeshire. These are exciting times for advancing the care of our patients with brain injury. There are many new initiatives in this specialist field in Cambridgeshire, including the Major Trauma Centre, Rapid Access Acute Rehabilitation Facility, as well as the Evelyn Project to develop Community Rehabilitation, in which Headway Cambridgeshire is a major partner. I hope that my patronage will help raise awareness of the important part Headway Cambridgeshire plays in the care of people in the community who are affected by brain injury.'
Chair of Trustees, Ellee Seymour said: 'We are very grateful to Professor Pickard for agreeing to be our Patron; he has long been a friend of Headway Cambridgeshire and we are all looking forward to working with him. The Charity is going from strength to strength and Professor Pickard's endorsement of our services will help to promote our cause.'
“ Thank you for the support and advice that you have been giving my husband. This has in turn taken a lot of pressure off me and has helped me through his bad days and angry spells. ”
