At Headway Cambridgeshire we aim to provide a client focused bespoke service. We recognise that one size does not fit all when it comes to brain injury rehabilitation.
In addition to our core services, we are delighted to be able to offer the following therapy services
Our Occupational Therapy team which includes experienced Occupational Therapists and Therapy Assistants provide a full range of services based on your individual challenges and goals. The package of support can include assessment, goal setting, advice and recommendations, and 1:1 support to help you to implement recommendations in your home, workplace or community setting.
Occupational Therapy Team input can include -
Vocational support: Assessing skills, job-matching in relation to skill-set and, where appropriate, support to write CVs, confidence building, preparation for interview, researching and accessing education courses and voluntary opportunities. We can also provide ‘in work’ support and advice.
Daily living activities: We can assess clients’ cognitive difficulties in relation to activities such as personal care, i.e: washing & dressing, and domestic care, cooking, budgeting, shopping and leisure activities. We can help identify appropriate approaches or coping strategies to assist.
Adaptive equipment: we can offer support and advice in relation to obtaining and using adaptive equipment for everyday tasks.
We can support clients to find effective techniques and practical advice in relation to fatigue, anxiety and anger management.
We can also help by signposting clients to additional services as required.
“ The Hospital Brain Injury Co-ordinator became someone who absolutely understood how I felt, I didn’t need to explain. I could talk about my fears and worries. She was such a great support through the difficult days, but could also celebrate the small step successes, which was important to me. ”
