Glitter & Glamour Ball

In February 2010 we celebrated Headway Cambridgeshire's coming of age, marking our 21st year of working with people who have suffered a brain injury as a result of accident or illness.

At a Glitter & Glamour Fundraising Ball and Auction on 27 February 2010, we raised funds in support of our comprehensive rehabilitation and support service to brain injury survivors, their families and carers. The event at Chilford Hall, was attended by local supporters and business representatives from across the Cambridgeshire region.

The theme and dress code for the evening was 'Glitter & Glamour' and there was plenty of sparkle among the guests and entertainers. After a wonderful three-course meal, guests took part in an auction of exclusive lots including:

  • Tickets to see Arsenal and Manchester United
  • An original painting of Madonna
  • A cricket bat signed by the Captain of the England Women's cricket Team
  • Tickets to see Rocky Horror Show at the Corn Exchange
  • A Cookery Course
  • A signed Cambridge United shirt
  • A month's membership at a local gym with a personal training session and massage.

The auction was followed by live entertainment from Abba Queens and guests also enjoyed a Casino. Photographer Paul Lane of Savvy Design Ltd, was on hand to capture the glamour of the evening. As well as photographing the evening's proceedings, he also photographed many of the guests who supported our cause and helped us raise funds. Paul has kindly put the Gala Ball photographs online.

Headway Cambridgeshire would like to thank all those who donated the auction lots. We would also like to thank all our glittering, glamorous guests for supporting Headway on the night.

If you missed the Headway Cambridgeshire Glitter & Glamour Fundraising Gala, but would still like to show your support, you can donate via Headway Cambridgeshire Charity Profile on JustGiving.
